Burlesque is a theatrical performance genre with roots in 19th-century popular culture, known for its comedic, provocative, and often erotic performances. Over the years, it has evolved into a powerful form of expression and activism, particularly within the LGBTQIA+ community, both internationally and in Italy.
For many queer burlesque artists, performances have become a platform for challenging gender stereotypes and creating spaces of inclusion and acceptance. Burlesque, as an art form, has proven to be an essential tool for activism, allowing individuals to express their identities and combat discrimination through creativity, art, and performance.

Every body is seductive
My burlesque is queer, embracing everyone and placing the body at the center, claiming its many political and cultural meanings. It’s an art form that celebrates and enhances everyone’s sensuality, which is why so many diverse people come to my school and classes. Imagine a room filled with non-binary individuals, each with their own story and journey—this diversity creates an incredible richness that benefits us all. In these spaces, we honor each person’s unique path while coming together to explore the transformative power of self-expression through burlesque.
